.ZIP Authentication
-------------------
SFBUPGMS.ZIP was created by a registered copy of PKZIP 1.10. The
original .ZIP file and exact duplicates carry the author's Authenticity
Verification stamp. When unZIPping SFBUPGMS.ZIP, each filename should
be followed by the -AV indicator, and the following line should be
displayed by PKUNZIP as it terminates:
Authentic Files Verified! # VDK942 The Silicon Frog
The SFBUPGMS.FRG file is encrypted. If the authentication message was
not displayed by PKUNZIP, the file was accidentally damaged or
willfully tampered with. Regardless, you should not use any of the
SFBU programs if SFBUPRMS.FRG did not pass PKUNZIP's authentication
test. Please do not take unnecessary risks.
If your SFBUPGMS.FRG file did not pass the authentication test, please
send me a diskette containing a copy of the entire SFBUPGMS.ZIP file
(not just the SFBUPGMS.FRG file) which you downloaded, were given, or
obtained from a disk distributor. Please include the name of the
bulletin board or disk distributor you (or the person who gave you the
file) obtained the file from. In exchange, you will be sent a complete
set of original SFBU distribution files at no cost.
If your copy of SFBUPGMS.FRG passed the authentication test, but you
still wish to receive the complete, current set of SFBU distribution
files, send $5 (US currency or check in US funds) to:

1514 South Drive

In any case, please indicate which type of medium you prefer (5.25",
360K diskette or 3.5", 720K diskette). The original files will be
mailed to you within 24 hours of receipt of your request.
Distribution Files
------------------
SFBU consists of the following three files:
SFBUPGMS.ZIP The SFBU Programs
SFBUDOCS.ZIP The SFBU Documentation
SFBUSHOW.ZIP The SFBU Screen Shows
These three files are also distributed in a single, larger file called
SFBU.ZIP. Altogether, these files take up over 400k of disk space.
If dowloading all of the files requires too much time, or ones of the
files is not available, considering getting a set of originals, as
described above.
CONTENTS
--------
SFBUPGMS.ZIP contains the following files:
FileName File Description
------------------------------------------------------------------
PGMINFO.DOC The file you are reading
VIEWME.COM The Terms and Condition Awareness Program and
SFBUPGMS.FRG unZIPper
SFBUPGMS.FRG The encrypted .ZIP file which contains all 56
Silicon Frog Batch Utility program files.
Terms and Condition Awareness - UnZIPping SFBUPGMS.FRG
------------------------------------------------------
Before you start, make sure that the VIEWME.COM and SFBUPGMS.FRG
files are in the same directory, and that the PKUNZIP.EXE program
(release 1.10 or later) can be executed from that directory. You may
then run the VIEWME program.
You may specify a destination drive and path for the PKUNZIP program
when starting VIEWME:
A:>VIEWME D:\PATH
If a path is specified, PKUNZIP will store the uncompressed SFBU
files in the specified drive:\directory. If you want the SFBU files
stored in the current directory, start VIEWME without a command-line
parameter.
The SFBU program files may require over 600k of disk space depending
on the cluster size of the disk to which the files are unZIPPed. On
hard disks with 2K DOS clusters, SFBU programs require approximately
425K of space. VIEWME will compute the exact SFBU space requirements
for your disk type and will warn you if you do not have sufficient
space to PKUNZIP the entire SFBUPGMS.ZIP file.
Another purpose of the VIEWME program is to make you aware of the
terms and conditions of use of the SFBU programs. VIEWME will unZIP
the program file only if you agree to these terms. If you do not
agree to any terms as a matter of principle, please do not run
VIEWME.COM and delete the README.1ST, VIEWME.COM, and SFBUPRG.FRG
files. And if you are reading this file online, do not download
SFBU. If you do not agree to the simple and extremely reasonable
terms stated by the VIEWME program, reply anything but "yes" to the
program's prompt, and the SFBUPGMS.FRG file will not be uncompressed.
If you agree to the terms and conditions of use, make sure you reply
"YES" to the VIEWME prompt.
The program will verify the existence of the PKUNZIP.EXE program and
will un-compress the SFBUPGMS.FRG file. VIEWME will also check the
file's authenticity as well as the PKUNZIP completion code.
Optionally, VIEWME will delete this PGMINFO.DOC and the SFBUPGMS.FRG
files.
After the SFBU program files are unZIPped, make sure to view the
PGMINFO.TXT file which is contained inside the SFBUPGMS.FRG file.
Your obligation
---------------
Please understand that an affirmative answer to the VIEWME prompt is
a legal agreement on your part. As a result of this agreement, your
alternatives after the 30 day evaluation period are to register the
product, or to stop using it. If you do provide an affirmative
answer, your word will be trusted implicitly -- SFBU programs will
operate without limitations as long as you continue to use them.
My obligation
-------------
Part of my obligation as the author has already been fulfilled:
writing the programs, testing them to the best of my ability, and
documenting them (the FirstLook shows are a useful luxury). I will
try to correct bona fide problems as soon as they are reported, and I
will mail bonus programs to those who register. At this time, I
intend to add to and improve SFBU. Whether or not there are future
releases of this product, however, will depend entirely on the
success of the original product, as measured by the number of
registrations received.
Thank you.
